FAQs

  • Awhile back, a friend of my wife’s asked if I could photograph her dogs like my children’s portraits, which she loved. I brought my gear to her little condo and photographed her three dogs. Bringing my studio to her was extra special because one of her dogs was near the end of his life and didn’t travel well. And the timing was important as well, as the old fella passed away soon after. Those photos of him very dear to his owner.

After that session, I learned two things. Dogs make for very nice fine art portrait subjects because they have a simple shape to them with lots of interesting varieties in the shape itself and the colors and textures. And what should have already been obvious to me, is they are an important part of some many people’s lives and portraits of them can be also valuable to their people.

  • Dogs can change rapidly over their shorter lifetimes. So, I think getting a portrait now is a great idea.

  • I offer a mobile studio experience. I come to you and photograph your dog where they are likely the most comfortable—at home. I have yet to meet a dog owner that would rather pack up their dog than have me come to them.

By working with studio lighting there is no worry about the weather cooperating. I do portraits year round. I only need a space that is roughly 8ft x 8ft, but more space is certainly appreciated.

I work within the greater Tri-Cities, WA area, but I love to travel near and far. Please contact me about possible travel expenses if you are outside of the Tri-Cities.

  • My session fee is $149+tax. Additional dogs are $75 each. With multiple dogs, I require two minders, not including me.

The session fee does not include any digital files or print products.
